STARKVEGAS, MISS – With 56 seconds left to go in the world’s slowest basketball game, De’Aaron Fox was fouled as he made an exceptional drive to the basket, and the referees decided to check the replay just to see how awesome it was.  At this point, UK was up 7 points, and Fox was headed to the line, so the game was well in hand, and UK fans decided to head for the exits.  As they began to walk quietly back to their cars, Kentucky fans heard something they couldn’t quite explain.  Mississippi State fans in the dying moments of their once a year ritual of caring about basketball, began chanting “Overrated” at what UK fans thought were the referees.

However as fans began to point at De’Aaron Fox who went for 21 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds, it became clear to UK fans that the chants of “overrated” were for some reason meant for their players. “Look my first thought was surely they aren’t chanting overrated at our basketball team,” Kentucky superfan and our Uncle Terry said. “I thought maybe they were chanting at the top rated officiating crew on the floor tonight, that crew certainly did not live up to the hype. But the more I listened the more I realized they were chanting at our team!  While they were losing!”

So the UK fans  that made the trip down to the Humphrey Coliseum, inconveniently located in the worst part of Vegas,  chanted “underrated” right back.  After the game we asked several Wildcat fans who the underrated chant was aimed at, number 5 Kentucky or the unranked Bulldogs?  “Everyone was underrated, I mean we’re obviously the number 1 team in the country and they have us ranked 5th, and the Mississippi State team was underrated because they covered the point spread,” Uncle Terry then leaned in covering his mouth with the back of his hand, “gambling’s legal here in StarkVegas right?”
