After months of going back and forth Dudley Webb has decided to pull out of a hole in downtown. This controversial decision has rubbed many the wrong way. Some critics have been quick to point out that this method of doing business is not nearly as safe as some think and city officials should have built in some sort of protection when signing the contracts. “I might go back in that hole, it’s a pretty good hole, but I’m going to need some protection first,” Webb said. “If I were younger I might just plunge right back into this thing but I’m at the age now where, I’ve felt the burn enough times in my career to know, you have to have some sort of protection assured from the city before you hop back in that hole.” When asked for comment, Lexington Former Vice Mayor Jim Gray had only this to say: “The lesson we have learned here, and what we probably should have known all along was, you’ve got to get the money up front before you let someone in your hole.”
