Senator Mitch McConnell’s “Home For The Holidays” speaking tour takes him to Covington today, where he plans to dazzle an audience of both Northern Kentucky’s and Cincinnati’s chambers of commerce, using an act filled with as many hits as there are costume changes.

So far this year’s tour has set record attendance numbers for the senator, and many fans are having trouble obtaining tickets for the shows. However, this hasn’t stopped many of the self-proclaimed “turtleheads” from showing up. In fact, many of the ticketless McConnell faithful, still line up outside the venue with their homemade signs, sing songs and chant, just with the hope of catching a glimpse of the political superstar.

Those fortunate enough to make it inside are treated to what we’re told is an action packed show filled with speeches as explosive as the pyrotechnics.

We spoke with McConnell’s choreographer, who explained that while the show is fun for fans, there’s still a lot of hard work that goes into it. The team has worked overtime ensuring the senator, featured dancer “Left Turtle,” and the rest of the team stays on beat and on message.

The senator, in perhaps his most thrilling part of the show, transitions from the breakout hit of his long pop-litical career, “Watch Me (Majority Whip/NaeNae)” to his now famous medley “A Tribute To Coalplay.”

McConnell explains with pride, “The show closes as the beat drops out, all the frills and background music fades away, as me and the crowd sing with one voice,

Rah rah ah-ah-ah!

O-ba-ma –ah-ah ah!

McConnell oh-la-la!

Repeal Obamacare.”
