There was a bit of controversy at the mayor’s office on Tuesday, as future former vice mayor Steve Kay was forced to break a tie among staffers trying to decide where to order lunch from. The staff was split down the middle between Sawyer’s Downtown Bar And Grill and a lady with zero culinary experience who offered to heat up some frozen dinners in the break room, with Kay ultimately deciding on the latter.

Former vice mayor Jim Gray was perhaps the most pleased with the decision, as he was the one who suggested the lady with no cooking background in the first place.

“As a former vice mayor myself, I know you can often be faced with tough decisions like this one. I think Steve made the right call,” Gray told us.

Kay may be called upon to break another tie today. The staff is once again expected to vote on lunch options, with the choices being Saul Good and a mystery bag labeled “Jeff” that’s been sitting in the fridge for twenty years.

“I don’t really want any of these choices,” Kay said. “But I only get to break ties. They won’t let me write in Gattitown, believe me I’ve tried.”
