Like certain colors, the ramifications of corporate mergers aren’t always visible to the naked eye. However, those ramifications were brought to light in Lexington this week, as two coworkers who once shared an office while working for the now defunct Time Warner Cable were forced to relocate, finding themselves on opposite ends of the Spectrum building.

Royland Gerald Biven, or Roy G. Biv as he’s known among his coworkers, was recently separated from his long time office mate Violet Green after evil cable conglomerate Spectrum absorbed slightly less evil cable conglomerate Time Warner.

“Color me sad,” said Biven. “Providing terrible customer service used to be fun because I knew that Violet was always there beside me, also providing terrible customer service. But now she’s on the opposite end of the building, and I’m just providing terrible customer service all by myself, wondering if life even matters anymore.”

“It’s definitely going to take some getting used to. But I think I’ll adjust. I’m just happy to be working for a company that’s at the forefront of innovation,” Violet told us while trying to convince a customer that landline phones were still a thing normal people used.
